Citizen Science
Citizen science is all the rage. Volunteers up and down the country are playing an increasingly vital role in scientific research and education, helping to meet some of the challenging demands of environmental monitoring at a national scale. One of the organisations spearheading the growing trend in citizen science is the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. Over 70 citizen science projects from plant disease to global warming are underway at Wallingford, housed in a state-of-the-art GroDome installed by Unigro.
To watch Dr Helen Roy from the CEH talking about some of these ground breaking projects from inside a world-leading GroDome check out this week’s Countryfile from 32 minutes - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03j4y40/Countryfile_Cannock_Chase/
