Complex of controlled environment chambers at Tremough Campus
Unigro is currently commissioning its recently constructed complex of eight walk-in controlled environment chambers and associated ancillary rooms for the Environment & Sustainability Institute (ESI). The ESI situated at the Tremough Campus is jointly managed by University College Falmouth and the University of Exeter.
The ESI building has been designed to achieve BREEAM ‘outstanding' status, the highest classification available under the BRE Environmental Assessment Method, which is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method for buildings. There are currently only seven complete buildings with BREEAM ‘outstanding' classification in the UK and none in the South West.
Unigro has played an active part in the design features of the energy system in the controlled environment chambers which incorporates Unigro systems, such as its coolth tank technology, which it is believed may lead to a BREEAM innovation credit.
